First Time We Met

September 2007

Matt was a goofy kid chasing all the girls around in high school. We met after being put in the same homeroom in grade 8. He even chased me around for two weeks until he was off to the next girl. Fast forward 6 years of friendship, we starting hanging out more and he was back on full force pursuit. After months of insisting that we were perfect for each other and that I was the one for him, his charm and persistence finally won me over. That very same day we started what would be the most intense and perfect love story either of us could have dreamed of.

Our first date

November 23rd 2014

Our first date was very memorable. Matt, being a closet romantic, was ever so determined to win my heart that he bought tickets to a Brad Paisley concert knowing my love for country music even though he had never listened to him. To clarify, Matt bought these tickets before we had officially started dating. A month and a half into our relationship we went on our first date. He took me out to Baton Rouge, my favourite place for ribs, and then we enjoyed a great night of great music.

Proposal day

July 1st 2017

Megan and I had been living in different provinces for 4 months when I came home for Canada Day. I had arranged with Megan's dad to fly in the morning of July 1st to surprise her for "Canada Day celebrations" at my parents house. Both of our families were together having a barbecue when I suddenly asked Megan if she would walk the dog with me. We took a walk around the neighbourhood and I was starting to get nervous. When our dog pooped I picked it up and walked backwards to the garbage can that we had passed 10 feet back because the bulky ring box was in my back pocket, lucky she didn't find this strange as she was talking to me and thought I was just being polite. We got back to my parents house and it was time, except I was so nervous that I opened the box upside down, at least the ring didn't fall out! She just laughed, cried and said YES!
